Chinese Imari porcelain plate, circa 1730
Vivid decoration in iron red and cobalt blue are the hallmarks of the ‘Imari’ style, popularized in the late 1600s by Japanese potters, and produced by China, Europe, and Britain at different periods over the next two hundred years.
Always decorative, and in our opinion the style is quite compatible with a modern look.
Chinese hard-paste porcelain with underglaze and enamel decoration, circa 1720.
Good antique condition, with two very small rim chips and no restoration.
